Mike Spencer

Born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, Mike Spencer has dedicated his career to helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of financial planning. His passion for the financial services profession began early in life after witnessing the challenges his father faced when a disability left him unable to work. The life insurance policy his father carried—complete with a waiver of premium and the ability to borrow against its cash value—proved to be a lifeline. That experience shaped Mike’s belief in the power and purpose of financial planning.

Mike entered the financial services industry in 1977, building a career rooted in empathy, education, and service. Though he briefly explored other career paths after graduating early, he found himself drawn back to life insurance and comprehensive financial planning, where he knew he could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Throughout his career, Mike has earned multiple advanced professional designations, including MSFS, CHFC, CAP, AIF, CLU, and CASL, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and delivering the highest standard of guidance to his clients.

Mike has been married for more than 44 years and is the proud father of a daughter and son, as well as a grandfather to two grandchildren. Deeply rooted in his faith, he remains active in his church community and has participated in mission trips to Guatemala and service initiatives throughout local communities.

With decades of experience and a heart for helping others, Mike’s mission is simple: to empower people to build financial confidence and secure their future with clarity and purpose.
