Rachel Gunther
Estate Planning Attorney
Rachel Settles Gunther has been working in the legal field for over twenty years and opened her own firm in 2010. Originally from central Kentucky, Rachel obtained her B.A. degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky in 2000. After taking a year off between her undergraduate and graduate studies for mission work in Spain with Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru), she obtained her J.D. degree from Regent University School of Law in 2005. Rachel worked full-time in a Virginia Beach law firm while attending her law classes part-time at Regent.
After graduating law school, Rachel worked at several law firms in the Hampton Roads area, including offices in Chesapeake, Suffolk and Virginia Beach. After practicing in Virginia for a few years, Rachel and her husband, Stephen, moved to Hertford, North Carolina. Rachel obtained her license to practice law in Virginia in 2005 and in North Carolina in 2009.
In 2010, Rachel opened her own firm, Rachel S. Gunther, P.C. dba Gunther Law. As the firm continues to grow, she now shares her time between office locations in Virginia Beach, Virginia and Hertford, North Carolina. While she continues to focus her practice in areas of transactional law in NC and VA (estate planning and real estate law), she also practices family law in NC. Rachel frequently lectures on the importance of estate planning, donating her time to speak at local community forums and adult learning centers.
When Rachel isn’t busy working, she enjoys spending time with her husband Stephen, son Zane and daughter Zoe, and their two dogs, Tiki and Lexi.
